Trans-national Feminism: American Influences of German feminist Alice Schwarzer

Abstract

This article explores the influence of American feminists and feminist thinking on German feminist Alice Schwarzer. While Schwarzer readily acknowledges and even reclaims the influence of the French movement over her feminist thinking she appears to give less credit to her U.S. influences although these are central to her positions and actions.
