Résumé
Music education research has so far dealt relatively little with 20th century music per se and even less in connection with the visual arts. In contrast, there are many studies on this topic in music and art research (Bosseur, Denizeau, Barbe, Kintzler, Fink, Bruhn, among others). At the PH Lausanne, we can draw on years of experience on transformations between music and the visual arts, which, however, have not yet been considered as a subject for research. Our research has so far focused mainly on listening to music, where this topic has been partially addressed (Afsin, 2009).
In teacher training, transformation processes from music to art or vice versa are proposed on the one hand within the framework of a production didactics to stimulate creative music making. On the other hand, they form the basis for an interdisciplinary module in secondary teacher education with a focus on creativity promotion.
In the current project, it is to be questioned how such transformation processes are planned and carried out by music teachers, what opportunities are opened up for listening to New Music and what methodological and didactic difficulties arise for the teacher. As a theoretical background, we rely primarily on the work on the interrelationships between the arts in music education (Brandstaetter 2004, 2010, 2013, Krämer, 2011) and empirical studies (Kranefeld, 2008).
In this lecture, not only the educational and research projects of the PH should be presented, but also a discussion about interdisciplinary research on the arts of the 20th century should be stimulated.
